Rajkot is an Indian city located in the state of Gujarat, in the west of the country and along the Aji and Nyari Rivers. Its population exceeds 1.5 million people and is the fourth most populous city in the state. The city was the capital of Saurashtra between 1948 and 1956, and became part of Bombay State first and since 1960 of the state of Gujarat.
