Maharashtra is a state of India situated in the western regiΓ³n of the country whose capital is the city of Bombay. It is the second most populous state in India with over 112 million inhabitants, and third largest in the country with an area of ??308,000 square kilometers, besides being recognized as one of the richest regions of the nation.
