Jamnagar is an Indian city that belongs to the district of the same name and to the state of Gujarat, and is located in the extreme west of the country along the Gulf of Kutch. Formerly known by the name of Nawanagar and founded in 1540, the city currently has a population of about 600,000 inhabitants.

The options for tourism in Jamnagar are innumerable, largely thanks to its proximity to the coast which has beautiful white sand beaches and 42 amazing islands in the Arabian Sea as part of the Marine Sanctury and National Park. Jamnagar also offers numerous natural areas for tourism ideal for bird watching and enjoying of nature as the Lakhota lake, around which the city is organized, the Khijadia Bird Sanctuary or the Barda hills Sanctuary. In addition, tourists can enjoy prestigious religious buildings as the Bala Hanuman Temple, which continuously receives the chanting of devotees since 1964 so it has earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records, the Bhidbanjan Temple, Shiv Temples like Badrikedar Nath and Nilkanth Mahadev, and Jain Temples such as Vardhman Shah, Raisi Shah or Vasupujya Swami. Other attractions in the city are the towers of Mandvi and Pancheshwar, the Pratap Palace and the Khambhalia Gate.

The city is a natural place to find about one of the aspects of Gujarati cuisine, keeping some of the traditional vegetarian dishes as Bateta Dudhi nu Shaak and Daal Chana nu Shaak Ni, and adding numerous options of fresh and dried fish such as khandwas, gedadas or narsinga. Besides tourism, the main economic activity of the city is related to the oil industry, since some years ago in the vicinity of the city was established the world's largest grass-root oil refinery.
