Hyderabad is an Indian city capital of Andhra Pradesh State located in the southeast part of the country, along the Musi river. It is the fourth most populous city in India with nearly 7 million inhabitants and was established in 1591 as part of the Kingdom of Golkonda before becoming part of the Mughal empire. Historically the city is recognized as one of the world's leading trade centers of pearls and diamonds.

The Hyderabadi cuisine is a legacy of the Nizam monarchy that occupied the city for many years, and covers different rice and meats dishes with numerous spices. Among its traditional dishes are the Hyderabadi biryani and the Hyderabadi haleem, while also are important the Chakna and the baghara baingan and desserts like Qubani ka meetha and Kaddu ki kheer. Besides tourism, among the most important economic activities in the city are the trade of pearls and diamonds, while every year are more and more important the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nanotechnology industries.
